Jong Tae-Se's World Cup Predictions Up In Smoke

Before the World Cup started Jong Tae-se of North Korea stated he would score a goal in every game he plays AND that he guaranteed a win against Brazil. Well, Jong Tae-se was quickly brought back down to earth after Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Brazil. He realized that scoring a goal not only against Brazil, but while those damn vuvuzelas are blowing, is more difficult than he thought. Near the end of the game he pretty much took a shot whenever he had open space, frantically trying to get in the back of the net. Sorry buddy, I hope Kim Jong Il isn't too harsh.

Besides his tall orders, North Korea put up a great fight against Brazil. They were quick, organized, tactical, and when they were able to get possession of the ball (37% total for the match), they managed to develop situations that gave them a fighting chance. Ji Yun-nam had a great first touch to get himself into open space in the 89th minute to give North Korea their only goal of the match. That goal did take Brazil by surprise and they were on their heels for about a minute or so before they managed to get control during the latter part of injury time. Maicon had a ridiculous goal that at an almost impossible angle to give Brazil the lead. Shortly after, Robinho sent in a wonderful ball to Elano who slotted it home to make it 2-0.

Great game to call it a day, excited to see Spain do some work tomorrow.
